The Mortal GOD

PS: This is my first attempt in writing…  Please consider this before throwing Bricks and Bats at me…. ;) Spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes are guaranteed….

They say he is the ultimate and the record set by him is beyond anybody’s reach….. No no I am not saying about Sachin tendulker , but its Sir Don Bradman. The average of nearly 100 is unimaginable. Still, people start to compare Sachin with Don whenever Stats come into picture. Well, I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. You cant compare a personality from another era to a personality from this era. Moreover, the factors such as Cricketing standards, protective gear, uncovered pitches, quality of opposition, number of opposing teams, aiding technology, umpiring standards and many more over the different eras are never same. So comparing these legends is like disrespecting each of them.

Coming to present era……..
People who like to always criticize Sachin,
  1. says that the winning rate of India when sachin score a century is very less. So when sachin scores a century, its like India is going to lose or match will be drawn. It’s a so called Jinx which will never be broken.
  2. Also, they say that He play for his own records and is selfish.
  3. He will always find some loopholes in the Indian Tax system and get away from paying the tax (Ferrari and Acting fiasco).

Taking these points into consideration, lets have a look at sachin’s carrer as cricketer and his personal life.
  1. Sachin has scored a total of 99 centuries of which 53 centuries has contributed in winning and 46 were in losing or drawn cause. Taking a look at those 46 centuries, we can observe that 22 centuries have been in drawn, tied or no result matches. These stats are enough to make His critics shut their mouth. But, stats don’t reveal the real picture. It just helps in building the foundation of this debate.

Consider his career from 1989 to 2011, he has batted at Different positions and with different partners. But except Dravid, Ganguly and Sehwag there is no one who has regularly supported him in building partnerships and making sure that the innings that they r playing contributes in winning. Till, 2005 it was like, If Sachin is gone then India will certainly lose. He was the One man Army. Its not an overstatement as we can  can deduce from Wasim Akram’s Satement in World Cup 2003 when he was dropped by Razzaq. He said “ Tuza pata hai, tune kiska catch choda hai.” Akram knew that Razzaq has dropped the match. There r many instances like this. So considering this, we cannot even think of the amount of pressure and expectations under which he is playing(loving) his game. Moreover, he is doing this from last 22 years…….. Thank God(real one), I am not Sachin, coz I would have crumbled to the pressure long ago.
  1. There are many instances in his whole career spanning 22 yrs where he has compromised his personal milestones for the cause of his team. When he walks off without waiting for umpires decision, people say he is not playing for his country. When he don’t walk, people say he is not playing the Gentlemen’s game. What rubbish…..!!!!
People fails to acknowledge that he is a living being and he loves this game. Everyone can’t be perfect. He is playing bcoz he loves the game and the game of cricket has given him so much that now he is giving his every bit to return it back to the game he loves so much. Just consider the day when He will retire. The game of cricket will lose atleast half the audience support. This is the influence He is having on the game of Cricket.

  1. Tell me how many people here know about the social events Sachin is involved in, be it charity or visiting an orphanage. For a man who don’t have time to spend with family, time is as pecious as money.
How many professionals, who comment on his tax savings, produce duplicate rent receipts, travel tickets, medical bills to save tax which will total to some thousand rupees??? These are illegal means whereas He was not saving his tax, he was putting forward his side to state that the money that he has earned thru acting is different from what he earned from cricket. When u have exemptions, then why not use it…!!!

These were some of the counter points to the points mentioned above…… J

Now coming to cricket field…….

Comparing Sachin to modern time greats like Ponting, Lara is also a norm now a days. In my POW, Sachin is above all, given the conditions he is still playing under the same pressure , while Lara has retired and Ponting is also on verge of retirement and still way back in terms of stats. To sum it up one of my friend says “ Dost, char din ki chandni sirf char din hi chamakti hai, Sachin to woh Suraj hai jo roz ugta hai roz jalta hai  aur roz logonko raah dikhata hai. Is suraj ke bina sab taraf andhera rahega…. L (He will quit watching cricket when Sachin retires)”

Sorry to say but this is a fact…….. The game of cricket has never been so dependent on any particular person before as it is on Sachin today. He is the greatest cricketer the game has seen till now……….
